Calcium Chloride generates heat immediately upon contact with the ice, making it more robust and effective than most icemelters on the market today. Powerful, this product melts ice and snow down to -25°F (-31°C).
Calcium Chloride also reduces dust during handling and application. The pellets can absorb moisture to bind particles together for a safer, more solid surface. Calcium Chloride also prevents dust formation by absorbing moisture from the air.
Calcium Chloride can be used as a concrete additive to set concrete faster and to accelerate the hydration of the mix.

Formulation
Calcium Chloride Icemelter and Dust Control is the pellet variety and is 94% to 97% pure Calcium Chloride.
Application Instructions
- For Snow and De-Icing: Apply at a rate of 15 -30 lbs. per 1,000 square feet (¼ to ¾ cup per square yard or 15 to 30 lbs. per 1,000 square feet).
- For Dust Control:
- For the First Application, spread at a rate of 2 ½ cups per square yard (100 lbs. per 1,000 square feet).
- For the Second Application, spread at a rate of 1 ¼ cup per square yard (50 lbs. per 1,000 square feet).
Application Notes
- Calcium Chloride Icemelter is best applied in a uniform, even distribution pattern.
- It is easiest to spread by mechanical means, such as a spreader, depending on size of coverage.
- It is recommended to remove ice and slush once ice bond has broken.
- Icemelter may be applied at the beginning of a storm to prevent hard ice accumulations.
